The Brief:

In early 2022, an existing client asked Lewcon to upgrade their meeting rooms and boardroom across their central London HQ. As a leading news and multimedia content provider, the client wanted to enable these spaces for Microsoft Teams, allowing employees to take their Teams experience smoothly from personal devices into meetings, supporting the client’s hybrid working journey. With two main offices in the UK, one of the key project goals was to source solutions that accelerated productivity through video collaboration, bringing together different teams in an immersive fashion.

The client engaged Lewcon to help them define the right technology to support the transition and project manage the entire deployment, including installation and post-sale management of the solutions. Lewcon provided a range of digital workplace solutions for the client, including upgrading existing meeting rooms as well as providing technology for open spaces and reception areas. Room booking solutions were also installed across the client’s offices to support more effective hybrid working.

The Solution

Across both sites, we upgraded the client’s meeting rooms with Samsung displays combined with Mersive Solstice wireless presenters, meaning users could simply enter the meeting room, connect their device to the display wirelessly and start sharing content. Yealink Teams Rooms systems meant that meeting participants could get meetings started quickly, delivering a premium video and audio experience and making meetings more efficient and collaborative.

In the boardroom, we deployed an 86” LG display as well as ceiling speakers and microphones to deliver high-quality audio and ensure every voice is clearly heard; the QSC DSP removes unwanted noise for a smoother sound experience for everyone.

The Logitech Rally camera features a dual-camera system combined with auto-framing for a superior video experience. A Crestron control system delivers a simple user interface. At the same time, the in-room PC enables multiple web UC applications for instances where the client needs to move from Teams to other VC platforms.

In London, we also upgraded several executive offices, enabling them for video collaboration, utilising Samsung displays and Polycom P15 web cameras. HP Slice Teams Rooms devices deliver a seamless user experience. In the client’s open spaces, we installed LG screens and Kramer VSM-4x4A multi-viewer for video distribution and a 3×3 video wall with BrightSign digital signage player showcasing the latest news and events from around the world in both the London open space area and South Yorkshire reception area. An LED ticker was a significant feature of the installation, enabling a live RSS feed created by Global News Agency to be shown at all times.

Post-pandemic, we wanted to create an environment that supports hybrid working and video collaboration for all our employees. Lewcon helped us define the right technology to support our objectives and managed the entire project from start to finish, working closely with our IT team to ensure that the overall deployment was a success and supported our teams in being more productive.
